Vedder Shareholders Junaid Zubairi, Rachel Copenhaver, Brooke Conner and Steven Berger are set to speak at the American Law Institute’s Accountants Liability 2026 conference. Taking place May 14-15 in Washington, DC, the conference will answer the question, “What will be the enforcement priorities of the SEC and PCAOB in an uncertain regulatory landscape?”

As conference co-chair, Junaid was integral in planning the overall conference and will be speaking on several panels. He will serve as moderator for “Fireside Chat with the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant,” “Regulator Perspectives on Gatekeeper Liabilities and SEC Enforcement Priorities” and “Trends in Accounting Litigation.” Junaid will also be a panelist for the session “Representing Gatekeepers in Regulatory Investigations.”

Rachel played a significant role in organizing the conference and will moderate several panels, including “Representing Gatekeepers in Regulatory Investigations,” “Managing Risk at Mid-Sized and Smaller Accounting Firms” and “A View from the Sidelines: How to Identify and Manage Risk When Not Directly in the Crosshairs with Regulators.”

Brooke is set to be the moderator for the panel “Data Privacy and Related Issues Challenging the Accounting Profession.” Steven will be a co-presenter during the session “Emerging Ethical Issues.”
